Weather Predictions for Filming

To be prepared for all issues that could get in the way of filming, we thought we'd look up the weather forecast for our filming days. Since the forecast was 5 days only, we will have to look up the weather for the 13th.

Since the weather on the Thursday will be slightly sunny and cloudy it shouldn't have a major impact on our filming, but since we have to film during the day it could be a challenge if the sun is too bright or the brightness changes drastically. We will keep an eye on the forecast so we can decide whether we should reschedule or not.

Analysis of a Website - Jack

As part of the digipak we are going to create a website for our band. In preparation for doing this I have been looking at other websites for other similar bands and having been looking at how they structure there websites and also what makes them so accessible and appealing.

This the front page of You Me At Six's website. Whom are a band with a similar market strategy to us. As you can see there home page isn't over crowded with items so users won't be confused when they visit there site for the first time. They also have a nice layout where the links are all listed on the left hand side and the main item is presented in the middle. There website is also fully interactive as you can see on the bottom it has several different links to other popular social networking sites and music sites. I would like to include this feature in our website as I think our market audience would find this interesting.   

This is a screenshot of there live gigs page where they display all there coming live shows. This gives all fans a chance to see where they are playing and is a great feature because it another way of showing fans where they are playing in a simple way. We would like to add a feature like this in our website. 

When you click on there store link you get through to this site. Which is there official store site and this is a site which is simple and easy to use. By having a store site this enables the band to sell there merchandise online which is a key feature. We are going to use this feature on our site as it connects with the fans more and enables us to sell more merchandise.

Digipak Influences- Jack

When thinking about designing an album cover for our digipak. I thought about previous album covers I have seen and have created a mood board of all the ones that are going to inspire use when we create our album cover. These album covers use both the range colours and fonts that I would like to portray in our album cover.

Group Meeting 04/11/2011

In todays Group Meeting, we discussed the issue of weather forecast for our filming dates. This is incase it has bad weather conditions that could affect our shot and cause problems such as a wet ground or wet equipment. We then tried to research what the weather would be like when we are shooting but we couldn't do this due to an error that occurred on the website. We then decided that it would be more suitable to check the weather forecast nearer the time because this would be more accurate and sensible.

These are some album covers we think have a nice style and are a good influence for our digipak.

Production Schedule

I produced a production schedule which lets me and Jodie know what we would be shooting on the arranged dates. In this production schedule is also the certain times in which we would be shooting the different sections. This is helpful because when we come to shooting we will know what times we should be keeping too. The schedule also states the location of the shots.

Shot List

I have made a shot list to show all the shots that will be used in the music video. I have also put details about the individual shots.

Test Shots

These are the test shots of the band and the femme fatal. I have labelled them with each name and might consider using these on the website we will eventually create.

Animatic Story Board

To give us a bit of experience with editing clips to the song and using Final Cut, we made an animatic storyboard of our post-it note version of our song.

This was a bit of a challenge doing this over the period of 2 days and 5 different computers, I did experience some bumps from changing Mac every hour due to lesson schedules, but I managed to keep my pace and track of what I was doing. Jack helped out by over looking what I was doing and helped create more drawings for the board when  had run out of shots.

I reused a few shots just so jack knew what shots to write down on our shot list to give us a guideline for when we come to editing our footage. We know that this isn't going to be our final decision, but we have given enough detail so we can figure out where each clip goes.

Risk Assessment

We filled out a film risk assessment which basically states all the risks there are in the location where we are filming and also what level risk they are (eg. Low, moderate or high risks.) We have also stated how we are going to deal with these risks and make sure that they don't turn into accidents. To do this we created an action plan in which we would handle all these risks. We have also take down all emergency numbers such as the police, the fire brigade and the ambulance. We also taken down emergency family numbers so that we know who to contact if one of the actors or crew injured.

 

Storyboard

This an overal view of the storyboard that we have created for the music video. By creating this gives us the idea of how the shots are going to look and also how we are going to put them in order when we edit the video. Together we broke down the song to think of what kind of shots we think suit that part of song.

Assets Table Collage

I have put together the equipment and wardrobes for each member of the band, this will help us identify which outfit goes on which member. Although these are images from the internet, this is the style we are going to fashion our members in.
