Jack's 3 Initial Ideas

I have been researching ideas for music tracks we could use for our music video project. I have been listening to many different tracks on the Internet through such sites as YouTube and Myspace. I have also been creating plans of what the video would look like. These are the three tracks that have interested me the most:

Stop The War- Ego Trippin
This is a dance song that has interested in because it is has a clear meaning which means that you can fit a video to it nicely. This is a song about war and is strongly influenced by music from the east. My idea for this track would be a narrative video throughout because it is hard to create a performance when its a dance track. The story would be based around war but instead of men fighting eachother with guns, I was thinking that we could use little boys with water pistols. We would base the story around two soldiers (boys) who are fighting together through the war and we would see there fellow soldiers dying. This idea suits the track because this tracks differs in pace so we would be able to fit the story around the pace, this means when the pace slows we can slow down the story but when it picks up again this is when we can add in the war scenes. I have taken great inspiration from the Kasabian video 'Empire' which is also themed around war. I have full permission to use this song as I personally know Ego Trippin and I have asked him for permission myself.

Vintage- Mike Crampton
This another track that I am considering making a music video for. I also know the artist who created this track so I have full permission to use this track. This is a mid paced track that gets faster at some points which means that I can alter the speed of the video. My idea for this video would be to create a conceptual video with some performance aspects added into it. The main lyric in this song is the word 'Always' which is the word I would base the video around. I would also add in the technique of stop start recording into this video where I would get the main actor to hold up a sign saying 'Always' during the chorus and use the stop start technique to transport them to different locations and this would also add a vintage effect to the video which is also the title to the song.

Family- Satellite Stories
Our last initial idea was a track called 'Family' by a band called Satellites Stories. We don't have full permissions to use this track yet, but I have contacted the band asking for permissions. Our idea for this track would both a performance and narrative video type because this a fast up beat song which would be suitable for a narrative video. This track would also be good for a vintage themed video because the style of music. We would base this video heavily around family because this is the title and theme of the overall song. This means that would need lots of natural shots of the band with there family and laughing. We would also take shots of the band performing in different locations because this will make the background more vibrant. We also use lots of warm colours in the video to represent safety which links back to family and this will also give it a vintage feel. I have taken inspiration from Noah and the Whales video to there track '5 Years Time' which uses a warm colours.
