Camera: Enhancing an Idea

When looking at inspiration for our music video, we looked at ways where the camera can be used for simple but clever ideas. For example this video of 'Souled Out!!!' by Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band, uses a backdrop of pre-recorded footage of everyday activities and random locations and uses the lead singer to act in front of the backdrop as if he would be in the location as well.

The camera cleverly capture the singer and backdrop by using a frame that fits the screen, it only becomes apparent to the viewers how this is filmed at the end when the camera reveals the whole studio.

Another Video is by 'All American Rejects' called 'Move Along' except this video keeps the singer in the same rule of third through out the video when the camera is facing him. The clever trick about this video is the editing when the scene has changed and the singer's wardrobe has changed the lip syncing stays perfect throughout the clip even through very fast scene changes.
