Testing the Day for Night Effect

Today we experimented with the different camera settings and modes that we could use on the day of our shot. The music video we are shooting is set at night therefore we would need to shot in the night time but if you don't have up to date lighting equipment then the footage can look dark and dull. A simple way of getting around this is to use an effect called day for night this allows you to shot in the day time but by altering camera settings and also by changing options in post production you can make the footage appear like it was shot at night. We learnt how to do this by watching several different YouTube tutorials and also by asking our teacher for help. We then went out ourselves and experimented with this technique.

This is one of the YouTube tutorials we used.

This is the video that we filmed showing us playing with the day for night effect and also playing with the exposure. This video also shows us using LED camera lights to see if they change the effect and also what we can do with them to improve our music video.

We worked on this together
